$200 million in funds available for small businesses

Over the next two years an estimated $200 million dollars has been budgeted by the Australian government for small businesses requiring training for owners and employees wishing to pursue growth strategies. New investment funds likely to be available for 4,500 Australian start-up businesses through ESIC status

The Australian federal government has passed into law the new ESIC – Early Stage Investment Company laws. The Australian government estimates 4,500 early-stage companies are missing out on equity finance and wants them to raise $1 billion of ESIC capital in the next three years.

Strategic review funding support available

The Victorian Government along with a number of other States and territories is continuing to help eligible businesses work with professional firms to assist businesses with their planning through helping with the costs of external advice. Programs include the Grow Your Business initiative as well as the Small Business Mentoring Service. Business Improvement Educator and Coach Bill Lang said “ it makes sense to check what you r business may be eligible for, each year millions of dollars from these sources are not used due to business owners not being able to quickly determine eligibility”.
